Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
Main goal of the subject is to obtain and acquire knowledge to enable better orientation in the field of automotive electronic systems (key areas: Powertrain, Body, Chassis and Communication).

Learning outcomes:
Students acquire knowledge on the basic principles and characteristics of all major electronic systems of modern vehicles.
Skills:
The acquired knowledge forms part of general knowledge of an engineer, that is focused on the vehicles construction and therefore the application of electronics in the automotive industry.

Podmínky udělení zápočtu:
Účast na laboratorní výuce (100%).
Odevzdání protokolů z měření.
Absolvování všech kontrolních testů v řádném termínu.
test T1 - max. 10 bodů,
test T2 - max. 10 bodů,
laboratorní úlohy - max. 20 bodů.
Pro udělení zápočtu je třeba získat 25 bodů.

Subject syllabus:
1. Basic electronic components, electronic circuits diagrams (components labeling, diagrams drawing principles and rules, manufacturers specifics for electrical schematics plotting).
2. On-board network, interconnection of electronic systems (power supply and communication), cooperation of electronic systems.
3. Communication means and their applications in electronic systems, a basic overview and description of principles: K-Line, L-Line, LIN bus, CAN bus, FlexRay.
4. Batteries, electronics systems for supply management of on-board batteries, electronic devices for on-board voltage control and regulation.
5. Systems for engines starting, principles of operation and construction.
6. Electronic control and regulation processes of spark ignition engines, control unit, features and principles of sensors, features and principles of actuators.
7. Electronic control and regulation processes of diesel engines, control unit, features and principles of sensor, features and principles of actuators.
8. Transmission control, single stage and multistage automatic transmissions, electronic control unit, characteristics and principles of sensors, features and principles of actuators.
9. Chassis control and regulation processes - the basic systems, passive and active assistance systems, providing comfort, electronic control unit, principles and characteristics of sensors.
10. Power steering system, principles and means.
11. Comfort systems, automatic cruise control (ACC), HVAC system, electronic windows, central locking.
12. Restraint and protection systems, block structures of a systems, principles and characteristics of sensors.
13. Automotive diagnostics, parallel and serial diagnostics of electronic systems (control units, sensors and actuators).
14. The European onboard diagnostics, EOBD (OBDII), legislation.
