Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Knowledge obtained in this subject offers students good orientation in the branch of industrial electronic equipments construction and ability of independent analyzing and synthesis. Student is able to apply obtained information by practical designing of the electronic equipment. Knowledge obtained in this subject is a part of general knowledge of electrotechnic engineer, who is interested in industrial electronic systems developing and applications.

Summary

Subject acquaints the students with the basic procedure and method for construction design electronics equipments. It acquaints with the basic range of components and their construction style. It indicates different equipments and converters in commonplace industry and specially, e.g. traction style. For analysis of are assumed to be ideal elements. The practical electronics circuits differ from these ideal conditions and the design of the circuits are also affected. The subject focuses on the basic knowledge for design and construction of electronics and power semiconductor converters.

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester

Verification of study: Checktests TEST no. 1, TEST no. 2 Conditions for credit: Project elaboration (evaluated max. 20 points). Compulsory participation on two tests (evaluated each for 10 points). Exercises (max. 40 points). Minimum amount of received points is 25.

Subject syllabus:

Lectures: Electronic equipments construction requests. Passive components and their features. Semiconductor components and blocks. Correct designing of electronic circuits. Input - output circuits of electronic equipments, connecting circuits. Electronic equipment design in term of electromagnetic compatibility. Problems of electronic components placement in term of electromagnetic and thermal compatibility. Printed circuits boards (PCB). Multilayer PCB layout. Design and production of PCB, soldering technology. Power loses of the electronic components, its dimensioning and cooling. Electronic equipment cooling methods. Air and liquid cooling systems. Modern cooling systems, evaporating cooling. Safety circuits of electronic equipments. Electronic equipment design conception. Safety and diagnostics of electronic equipments. Maintenance and assembly of electronic equipments. Exercises: Requirements of electronic equipment submission. Calculation of basic analogue circuits. Design of digital circuits. Methods of components marking, accurate calculating of loses. The most common designs of printed circuits systems. PCB design. Practicing of correct printed circuit soldering. Calculation of an air cooling system. Methods for special cooling systems calculation. Design of safety circuits for electronic equipment. Designing of selected type of electronic equipment. Collective discussion of suggested projects. Projects: Draught of chosen electronic equipment construction for the branch of industrial electronic. Collective discussion of suggested projects.
