Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The aim of the study is to acquire advanced knowledge enabling developmental research activities in the field of automotive electronic systems and diagnostic tools with a focus on passenger and light commercial vehicles, regardless of the type of drive (combustion, hybrid or electric engine). The acquired knowledge forms part of the necessary knowledge of the doctoral degree graduate, especially when focused on development and research in the automotive industry. Summary

The course focuses on advanced knowledge of HW structures of automotive electronic systems (AES) and also on the knowledge of software tools for their control and regulation, as well as development HW and SW resources linked to AES testing methods. The content of the course is based on the knowledge of mechanics, electronics, measuring and control technology, microcomputer technology and computer modeling, simulation and testing.

Subject syllabus:

Specific electronic components of automotive electronic systems. Actual and forward-looking topology of the on-board electrical network. Modern communication means and their applications in automotive electronic systems (K L lines, LIN bus, CAN bus, FlexRay. Electronics of systems for On-board Battery control, On-Board electronics for voltage control. Engine starting systems (advanced technology, co-operation with other systems). Electronic control and control processes of petrol engines, control unit, technology / technical means of sensors, sensors of required values and actuators. Electronic control and regulatory processes of diesel engines, control unit, technology / technical means of sensors, sensors of required values and actuators. Transmission control, step and multi-stage automatic transmissions, control unit, sensor technology / technology, value sensors and actuators. Chassis control and control - current systems, passive and active assistance systems, comfort systems, electrohydraulic unit, sensor technology / technology, value sensors and actuators. Power steering systems, technology / technical devices of sensors, sensors of required values and actuators. Comfort systems, automatic speed control (ACC), HVAC systems. Autonomous driving systems. Topology, technical means, safety. Modern restrain and protection systems, impact prediction systems, reversible tightening devices, sensor technology / technology, sensors of required values and actuators. Modern technologies for automotive diagnostics, parallel and serial diagnostics of electronic systems (control units, sensors, sensors of required values and actuators). Projects: Project in the field of automotive electronic systems in connection with the topic of doctoral dissertation.
