The main goal of the subject is to obtain the knowledge for good orientation in branch of electronic parts, measuring apparatus, communication possibilities and control in automotive industry. The knowledge gained forms part of general knowledge of electrical engineer especially if focused on applications in the automotive electronics industry.

Subject syllabus:

LECTURES 1. System solutions and co-operation of electronic units of motor vehicles, electronic data link systems. 2. Bus for communication of electronic systems in motor vehicles. 3. Electronic systems for energy management board batteries, electronics, voltage control board network circuits. 4. Drive for alternators, principles, structures, circuits. 5. Electronics systems, engine starting and operating principles, circuit solutions. 6. The structure of gasoline engine control unit (ECU), design and performance. 7. The structure of diesel engine control unit (ECU), design and performance. 8. Electronic transmission control, electronic control clutch and gearbox. 9. Regulation and control gear, the properties of control systems, circuit solutions. 10. Comfort systems, adaptive speed control, circuit solutions. 11. Control and signaling devices, features and peripheral solutions. 12. The restraint and protection systems, features of control systems, circuit solutions. 13. Parts of electronic security systems, circuit solutions. 14. Information, communication and navigation systems EXERCISE 1. Starting the first exercise (training principles used equipment, exercise overview) 2. Communication means of internal block management systems (design and implementation of circuits for use UART, SPI) 3. Serial diagnostics, communication with controllers via CAN bus communication analysis (new extended version on the model) 4. Serial diagnostics, communication with controllers via K-line analysis of communication (new extended version on the model) 5. Serial diagnostics, communication with controllers through the LIN bus, communication analysis (new extended version on the model), TEST #1 6. Technical means of electronic control systems (measurement and analysis - isolation amplifier, frequency synthesizers) Note.
