Lectures:
Introduction to radio networks, basic concepts, the distribution of frequency spectrum, the classification of wireless networks, distribution of radio networks.
Signal Processing, the source coding, channel coding, interleaving, modulation.
The issue of propagation of radio signals, the distribution of radio waves, the phenomena affecting the spread of radio waves.
Basic concepts and functions of radio systems, cellular structure, the use of frequency band, multiple access, handover.
Systems for the public radio network, international standards, frequency bands. GSM system. Construction and organization of the GSM system.
Data transmisssion in the GSM networks. The types of data transmission in mobile networks (HSCSD, GPRS, EDGE).
Developments, UMTS. Basic desription and conception of UMTS system, network architecture, services.
Cordless telephone (DECT), paging systems.
WLAN.
Digital TV broadcasting, DVB, a description of the DVB-T.
Measurement of the DVB-T, DVB-H system, the MHP.
Security of wireless communications.
Satellite communication networks, classification of satellite communication networks, satellite services, types of orbits, signal propagation.
Systems of satellite communication networks, satellite navigation systems, global position system GPS.
