Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
Students are acquainted with the legislation and basic regulations not only in the field of telecommunication technology. One of the focal points of the subject is an introduction to the EU Data Protection Directive - GDPR.

Summary
The subject provides an explanation of basic legislative concepts in the field of telecommunications and the ICT environment in connection with national regulations and standards. Students will also be oriented in institutions and organizations to issue guidelines, regulations, standards and control of existing legislation. Furthermore, they will acquire the basic nature and functioning of copyright, the law on electronic communications, safety standards and, in particular, the EU Data Protection Directive - GDPR.

Subject syllabus:
1. Legislation - laws and standards, normalization (standardization) process, standard de facto and de jure.
2. Organization (Multinational, global standardization organization (ISO, IEC, ITU, national, ...) Other standardization organizations. Significant industry standardization activities in IT (W3C, ...)
3. IT Security Standards. Copyright Act, Electronic Signature Act, and Related Orders.
4. EU-Telecoms Legislation, Introduction to the General Data Protection Regulation - GDPR.
5. General Data Protection Regulation- GDPR, Reasons for origin, coverage area, definitions of a sensitive and personal data, GDPR mandatory regulations and obligations, Personal Data Protection Officer.
6. National Regulatory Authorities - Czech Telecommunications Authority.
7. Implementing legislation on the Electronic Communications Act.
8. Decree on numbering plans for electronic communications networks and services, number and code management, transition to digital television (government order, decree, network plan), transition to DVB-T2 format.
9. Overview of applicable laws on fixed and wireless networks.
10. Frequency band allocation plan, radio spectrum use plan - Radio Regulations. European Commission legislation on frequency planning.
11. Standards and legal hygiene limits in wireless networks.
12. Territorial Planning, Building Law and its Impact on Telecommunication Networks.
13. Decree and recommendations of various associations in the Czech Republic (Czech Radio Club, Association of Public Telecommunications Network Operators, Czech Electronic Communications Association, Czech Telecommunications Association.
14. Laws and regulations for the operation of UAV equipments on the territory of the Czech Republic, traffic limits, necessary permits, legislation based, prohibited area, emergency countermeasures.
