Summary
The subject Advanced Network Technologies concerns about three areas that are crucial for recent communication networks in the world of the Internet. Firstly, the MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching) technology will be described and its applications – MPLS VPN, MPLS – Traffic Engineering, and AToM . Further, it will be paid attention to the data communication security in the Internet using various types of VPNs (Virtual Private Networks) with the aim at the most widely used type of this technology - IPsec VPN (Internet Protocol Security Virtual Private Network). The third area of interest of this subject is the QoS (Quality of Service) issue and its implementation using various QoS tools.
