Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Graduates of the course will learn to apply methods of measuring important parameters of optical elements, transmission lines, and optical networks, identify and classify faults, analyze and evaluate the quality of services in optical networks.

Teaching methods

Lectures
Experimental work in labs
Teaching by an expert (lecture or tutorial)

Summary

In the course, students will get an idea of important parameters on terminal equipment and transmission lines and their impact on the quality of optical network services. They will learn to use suitable measuring instruments and apply appropriate measurement methods to evaluate the condition of measured parts in optical networks.
