Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Understand the methods and the creation of multimedia products. Learning outcomes are set so that the students are able to identify and apply tasks in the field of multimedia technology.

Summary

Subject is oriented on common computer processing of the multimedia signal including audio signal and video signal as well. Except theoretic parts there is a big emphasis put into the practical classwork with purposes of independent filming shot creation.

Compression of static pictures PCM, DPCM, ADPCM. Compression of static pictures DCT. Compression, fractal encoding, Wavelet encoding. Encoding moving picture, hybrid encoding. Encoding moving picture, encoding in a bit level. Video compression standard, PAL, SECAM, NTSC. Video compression standard, JPEG, JBIG. Video compression standard, H.320, H.261, H.263.
