To understand sources, detectors and transmission media for optoelectronics. To master interactions between light and matter To master selected SW tools for design of simple devices.

Summary

The subject dedicates itself to principal characteristics of lights, their usage for telecommunication, measurement, processing and record of image information. A part of this subject are: modulation principles and techniques, information transmission through atmosphere and others dielectric media, constructions of sources and radiation detectors and some technologies processing of optical signals.

Lectures: Light and its properties Transmission of ligth through atmosphere Transmission of light through dielectric media Interaction of optical radiation and semiconductors Nonceherent sources of radiation Coherent sources of radiation Photodetectors with internal amplification and witout internal amplification Basic circuits solutions of transmitters and receivers Modulation of light and light modulators Passive and active devices of optical communication systems Displays Image processing
