Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The aim of this subject lies in acquisition of theoretical knowledges in servodrives of small power and in acquisition of some practical experiences with their application. Obtained informations are useful parts of electrical engineers knowledges, especially for engineers interested in application with low power servodrives.

Teaching methods

Summary

The subject focuses on the basic knowledges of low power servodrives and their control (DC servodrives, servodrives with stepping motors, AC servodrives with electronic switched motors and switched reluctance motors). The prerequisites would be courses on power electronics, electrical machines and electrical drives.

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester

Verification of study: Checking test TEST No.1, TEST No.2 (see exercise) Conditions for credit: Obligatory participation in laboratory exercises. In general 4 laboratory exercises are assessed max. 5 points, i. e. max. 20 points from laboratory exercises. Obligatory finishing of 2 tests in regular term. Test is assessed max. 10 points, i. e. max. 20 points from tests. At repetition test is assessed only 80% achieved points. Student can obtain from exercises max. 40 points, for conferment inclusion it is necessary achieve min. 25 points.

Lectures: Definition of servodrive. Importance of electrical controlled drives. Resources for control of servodrives. Incremental, absolute position and speed sensors. Regulators, sensors. Drives with DC servomotors. Four-quadrant converter for supplying of DC servomotors and their control. Control diagrams with DC servomotors. Static and dynamic properties of drives with DC servomotors. Position Control of Servodrives. Linear and time optimal control. Drives with AC asynchronous servomotors, principle of operation. Converters for supplying of asynchronous servomotors and their control. Control diagrams of drives with AC asynchronous servomotors. Static and dynamic properties. Drives with AC synchronous servomotors; reluctance motors and motors with permanent magnets. principle of operation. Converters for their supplying and control. Control diagrams with AC synchronous servomotors. Static and dynamic properties. Drives with Electrically Commutated Motors. Principle of operation. Converters for their supplying and control. Control diagrams with Electrically Commutated Motors. Drives with Linear Motors. Principle of operation. Converters for their supplying and control. Control diagrams with Linear Motors.
