Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The aim of this subject lies in acquisition of theoretical knowledges at programmable systems and in acquisition of some practical experiences with their design and application. Obtained informations are useful parts of electrical engineers knowledges, especially for engineers interested in application of microprocessor control systems in electrical drives.

Teaching methods

Summary

Subject deals with programmable control systems for application in electrical drives. It is hardware and software design described.

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester

Verification of study: Checking test TEST No.1, TEST No.2 (see exercise) Conditions for credit: Obligatory participation in laboratory exercises. In general 3 laboratory exercises are assessed max. 6 points, i. e. max. 18 points from laboratory exercises. Obligatory finishing of 2 tests in regular term. Test is assessed max. 11 points, i. e. max. 22 points from tests. At repetition test is assessed only 80% achieved points. Student can obtain from exercises max. 40 points, for conferment inclusion it is necessary achieve min. 25 points.

Lectures: Architecture of systems with programmable automaton (PA). Technical resources of PA. Operation of PA, forms of notation. Programming of logic automatons. Philosophy of programming. Commands and their functioning. Commands for binary logic. Commands for timers and counters. Compare instructions. Mathematical commands. Instructions for copying and movements. Commands for logical operations. Debugging software for PA. Configuration of hardware. Single-line diagrams and their adjustment. Debugging. Logic control in electrical drives. Examples. Sequential control. Definition, building of program, block of control. Basic blocks of logic control. Block of analog signal processing. Block of motor control. Block of regulator. Development tendency in PA. Exercises: Preliminary to PA. Description of hardware. Adjustment of analog and digital signals for processing in PA. Asignment of semestral work. Development resources for PA. Test 1.- Basic ideas from lectures. Test 2.- Basic ideas from lectures. Summary of exercises, tutorials and correction of semestral works. Laboratories: Laboratory exercise 1. - hardware of PA, measurement. Laboratory exercise 2. - model measurement, verification of PA processing. Laboratory exercise 3. - model measurement, verification of PA processing. Projects: Protocols from the laboratory exercise Computer labs: Development resources for PA. Programming of PA. Assembly of program for PI regulator used in PA.
