Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

After completion of the subject, the student is able to specify the basic characteristics of commercial electronics equipments in terms of their function, features and basic principles. Student is able to focus in the extended user manuals and apply the knowledge acquired in connection with a service of the equipments. In the subject are chapters, on the basis of the graduating student receives the minimum necessary knowledge in the areas RF technology which are used in the areas of commercial electronics. Obtained knowledge create a part of general knowledge of graduate in the field of Applied and commercial electronics.

Summary

The subject focuses on understanding the basic circuit principles, composition and functions of equipment and commercial products and consumer electronics. The course is based on knowledge of electronics, and digital and microprocessor technology.

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester

Verification of study: Control tests T1, T2. Conditions for credit: Attendance on laboratory education (100%). Report submission from laboratory exercises. Attendance on control tests. Acquisition of 25 points (minimum). Point rating of exercises: maximum 40 points, test T1 - max. 10 points,test T2 - max. 10 points, laboratory reports = max. 20 points.

Subject syllabus:

Lectures: Introduction to the commercial electronics equipments, the general requirements for products and commercial electronics equipments, electromagnetic compatibility, a declaration of conformity. Electrical drives for household appliances, the principle of speed control for single-power engines and motors for home appliances. Programmers and regulators in the household, servodrives, communication bus. Uninterruptible power supplies, construction and principles. Control of lighting, dimmers, voltage converters, the principles of switching power supply. Remote control, the principle of IR and RF control, the standards. Low-frequency technology, analog and digital LF signal processing, the signal modulation. Principles of television technology, the concept of television sets, the processing of analogue and digital signals. Receiver technology, antennas and antenna distribution, the concept of individual and joint TV and SAT distribution. Home audio and video, the interconnection resources signal, used interface (SCART, DIN AV, USB). RF modulators. Admission and broadcasting technology, the allocation of frequency bands, PMR and CB radio, wireless telephony. Personal computer, hardware basics. Exercises: Introduction to the scope of the course and conditions of credit. Calculation of AC voltage regulator. Proposal encoder and decoder for the remote control. Proposal applications AC amplifiers based on an integrated terminal degree. TEST No. 1 - Basis of lecture topics from 1 to 6. Analysis of the principle activities of RF modulator. Proposal HF Cable (hub) signal. Calculation impedance converters for resources RF signal. TEST No. 2 - Basis lecture topics from 7 to 11. Laboratories: Measurement of the AC voltage regulator. Verification activities transmission signal with hybrid RF modules. Measurement of the encoder and decoder signal tone of choice. Modulation and demodulating the signal. Band-pass filter and band-rejection filter, transmission characteristics. Projects: Semestral project (choice of one below): Proposal the temperature regulator with switching in zero voltage. Proposal group switches of the AV signal. Proposal for distribution small CTA.
