Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The main target is to obtain theoretical knowledge of modern control methods of AC drives and practical experience with appliance. Obtained knowledge is a part of general knowledge of electrical engineer especially, if he deals with applications of electric drives.

Teaching methods

Summary

The subject develops basic knowledge of controlled electrical drives. It deals with better knowledge of modern methods of controlled electrical drives with synchronous motor, induction motor and with switching reluctance motor. There is also shown applications of artificial neural networks and fuzzy logic in control of electric drives.

Subject syllabus:

Lectures: Models of synchronous motor with permanent magnet for regulation application. Vector control of synchronous motor in rotor-frame and oriented-frame. Controled structures of AC drives with synchronous motor and their realization with analog and microprocessor technics. Model of induction motor for control application. Vector control of induction motor. Controled structures of AC drives with induction motor and their realization with analog and microprocessor technics. Identification and adaptation of AC drives parameters. Neural and fuzzy logic control.
