The general objective of this course is to develop the student´s understending of the basic physical laws and principles in the circuit theory - in the analysis of DC and AC circuits (linear and nonlinear).

The course "Theoretical electrical engineering" deals with the analysis of the electrical circuits - the most typical structure in the electrical engineering, communication and computer systems. Electrical circuits knowledge are basic knowledge and they are a prerequisite for advanced circuit courses (electronic, measuring and control systems, mobile technology, etc.).
The basic aim is to determine voltages and currents in the electrical circuit, and then identify (from these knowledge) the properties of the circuit or system. Theses: elementary models of electromagnetic effects, circuit analysis algorithms, two-port networks in the linear circuits (the 1. order), frequency response, experimental measurements (Associate profesor Josef Punčochář).
