Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The goal of subject is to teach students to work independently on a given topic in professional groups. This style of teaching is very desirable especially with regard to future employment, which is usually required to address the independence of the technical problem. Students will be able to mutual coordination in the challenge of work and cooperation among colleagues in a working group with a progressive roles diversification. These requirements on the student belongs to the category of soft-skills and they can contribute to obtain better possition in employment market. It is important preparation for the thesis elaboration and the student's professional career. Students are able to solve a given part of technic subject, but in cooperation of the process solutions and networking solutions to the partial results with the team.

Teaching methods

Experimental work in labs
Project work

Summary

Bachelor project is independent work of students commonly solved in the 3-5man team in laboratory work by 2 hours per week. The theme of this bachelor project depends on the student's technical orientation and mutual agreement between students and teacher. Projects topics are offered by teachers. Bachelor project is the culmination of the protocols results from the previous subjects and provides an overall interconnection of individual parts, and successfully implemented the project results by a group of students.

Compulsory literature:

Literature is specified for each individual project.

Recommended literature:

Literature is specified for each individual project.

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester

Study control: Laboratory project is regularly consulted between the students solving the part of project and the teacher, who is responsible for the project. The deadline to submit an independent laboratory project, especially in electronic form, in the 10th week. The content and form of project: Students present each part of the project and the overall project. They make a presentation in the form of a presentation document. The project includes documentation for the project specified algorithms, a hardware solution to any given project and prepared the software implementing the project. The documentation is processed on the computer. In the case of software and hardware implementation, the students present the project solution in the laboratory. Students must demonstrate a solution running on PC or on their realized laboratory sample. Terms of the credit: The project is submittable from 10th week semester. Teacher, who gave a bachelor project, assess students according to the quality and solution of component parts and of the overall project 0-100 points. The student obtains 4 credits for the bachelor project. The assessment is in the range of 51-100 points given by the study regulations of the faculty.

Subject syllabus:

Laboratory: Each student can choose this subject at the beginning of the semester. The student chooses one of the given projects, which is offered by project supervisor and teachers of subjects from the study specialization. Students prepare a project in the laboratories, which are related to the solved specialized topics. The project may be prepared in cooperation with industrial partners too. The basic points of the project and its solutions are included in the following outputs: 1. Searches of the existing solutions 2. Analysis and design solutions of developed project 3. Practical implementation of the project according to the specialization - hardware, software, simulation 4. Description of the project solution 5. Instructional manuals and documentation preparation 6. Verification of the project 7. The project evaluation 8. Presentation of project
