Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
Subject Effective Computer Usage aims to especially to acquaint students with the problem solving in mathematics on your personal computer to facilitate their study of mathematics and physics, and the correct form of written and presentational speech during the study and for the final work. Upon completion, students will be able to use a personal computer as an assistant in the execution of the study and writing tasks such as protocols, laboratory work and works bachelor's or master's at a very good level consistent with the requirements of this type of publication.

Summary
The Effective Computers Usage course is recommended for students of first semester on Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computers Science. The course consists of the following blocks: operating system Windows, Mathcad, Matlab, text editors (Word), spreadsheet programs (Excel), computer graphics, search information on the Internet or presentation (Power Point). The students learn how to use computer for their study and especially solve matematical problems in different software environment. They are learn how correctly write and presentation their final works.

For study is possible to use any literature for subject Effective Computer Usage as are: User's Guides or Manuals. The topics are: Mathcad(PTC), MATLAB (Mathworks), MS Office (Microsoft), MS Windows (Microsoft)and Internet viewers (MS Edge, Mozilla, Google, Safari and Opera).
Animations and programs are prepared too (in Czech) on LMS (lms.vsb.cz).

It can continuously monitor mastery of the taught subject during the semester in the form of carrying out the tests.

Other requirements
Credit is awarded based on the processing of correspondence tasks. In total there are eight tasks together for 100 points. The credit is needed to get at least 51 points.

Subject syllabus:
1. The organization of course ECU (Effective Computer Usage). Presentation of examples from the first topic: Mathcad.
2.-4. Mathcad - program for mathematical solution, solving any matematical problems.Intervals, Matrices, Vectors, Equations, Systems of Equations, Graphs, 3D Graphs, Symbolic solving, ...
5. Matlab - program for scientific and technical computing. Presentation of simply usage for editing and solving mathematical problems.
6.-7. MS Excel - spreadsheet. Editing of tables, solving and drawing graphs, solving equations, etc.
8. Windows - Operating system. Basics works in Windows. Modification of system (Control Panels, searching,...), changing data between aplications. Another aplications as Calculator, Paint, miniaplications,...
9. Writing technical texts, Author's law
10. Word - text editors and procesors, editation styled, page's numbering, tables, pictures, drawing, writing and edit of equations, ...
11. Basic of Graphic. Definition DPI (Dots Per Inch), differences between raster and vector graphic. DPI of monitor, computer, system and printer.

13. Internet - viewers as MS Internet Explorer, Mozilla Fire Fox, Google Chrome, Safari and Opera. Differences and usage.
