Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the subject is to provide basic information about medical devices according to clinical disciplines. These are the fields of internal, surgical and joint investigational and therapeutic components. The subject fits into the interdisciplinary bachelor's degree with a focus on a specialist in health care facilities. The acquired knowledge and skills in this subject and the whole focus form the basic prerequisite of knowledge of biomedical engineering.

Summary

This subject follows the subject of Medical Instrumentation I and deals with the issue of diagnostic and therapeutic medical devices. Gradually, the principles, diagrams, technical solutions of devices, function and the use of this technique according to the clinical disciplines are discussed. It emphasizes the specific role of medical devices in terms of their application. Great emphasis is placed on exercises in which students attend the clinical workplace where medical electrical appliances are used. Here, they are practically acquainted with the operation and clinical examination of these devices.
