It defines the health risks of the environment and the working environment and possibilities of protection from negative effects, it deals with prevention of infectious and non-infectious diseases and their possible complications.

The subject is conceived as a thematic unit, providing basic knowledge of hygiene and epidemiology as scientific disciplines aimed at protecting and promoting health. It defines the health risks of the environment and the working environment and the possibilities of protection against negative effects, it deals with prevention of infectious and non-infectious diseases and their possible complications.

1. Hygiene and epidemiology as prevention fields. Definitions, content, tasks.
2. Supervision and supervision, preventive and routine hygienic surveillance. Principles of primary and secondary prevention.
3. Determinants of health, their occurrence in the living and working environment, methods of study of health condition.
4. Basics of environmental hygiene.
5. Indoor building environments.
6. Hygiene of work and occupational medicine. Definition and content, risk factors of the working environment. Assessment methods

8. Biological effects of selected work environment risk factors.
9. Fundamentals of nutrition hygiene.
