Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The aim of the course is to provide students with general information on assistive technologies and the possibilities of their use. Imagine how these technologies can affect the lives and independence of older, disabled or even healthy people. During the lectures, basic disabilities for which assistive technologies can be used, individual methods and principles of sensing parameters, whether biological or non-biological for use in assistive technologies, will be gradually explained and finally, the latest trends in assistive technologies will be presented in the form of various support devices not only for people with disabilities or the elderly in homecare. As part of the exercise, the student will be able to test some assistive technologies in a telemedicine apartment, where his infrastructure will allow students to engage students directly in measurement and use of assistive technologies in practice.
