Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The goal of this subject is introduce student to problematics of multimedia technics focused on area od measurement and control. Student will be able to use special HW and SW tools for audio and video recording, processing and production. Students will understanad principles of sound sense, color sense etc. Students will be able to work with digital image, video and sound by menas of special SW tools.

Summary
Introducing to basic principles of sound sense, sound processing, video recording, video processing and distribution. Students obtain knowledge of acoustic, sound propagation, sound and video processing. Introducing to using HW and SW tools for sound and video processing. Basic principles of digitization and sound and picture compresion are introduced in this subject. After graduate this subject students will understanding to modern principles of sound record, sound processing, video procesing by the help of modern HW and SW tools.

Verification of study:
Exercise credits - student is classifying on base technical paper and semestral work 0-40 points. Condition for receiving is min. 10 points, maximum of receiving points is 40.
Examination: Practical part - individual project 0-30 points. Writing part - closing test 0-20 points. Oral part 0-10 points. Student have to succeed in all parts of examination.

1. Introducing to digital multimedia technics, basic terms, history of multimedia.
2. Color vision, color spaces.
3. Text, graphic, sound and video processing from measurement and control point of view.
4. Sound, introduction to digital sound, sense of sound, acoustic, music acoustic, sound sources, basic music terms.
5. Speech processing, psychoacoustic.
6. Sound processing, sound recording, midi, sound systems, sound compression.
7. CCD, CMOS sensors, CRT, LCD, plasma technology.
8. Video processing, video editing, videocameras, videoformats.
9. DVD technology, DVD authoring, BlueRay, HD DVD.
10. 3D technology, IMAX.
11. Streaming media, HW and SW instruments for 3D.
12. Multimedia distribution.
13. Final test
