Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The student will be able to describe and explain eHealth and its applications to remote home care from both diagnostics and therapy, assistive technologies for physically and mentally handicapped people, fitness, effective user interface design for different users, and ways of interpreting results for patients and expert physicians. The student will be able to analyze these systems but also to manage and developed them.

Summary

The course focuses on the principles, design, implementation and commercial applications of eHealth approaches to monitor health status, improve the quality of life of physically and mentally handicapped people, therapeutic applications and fitness applications. Using existing knowledge of students in the field of diagnostic and therapeutic medical devices will be lectured and practically excercised their possible applications in the above mentioned areas. The necessary knowledge and skills in the areas of body sensor networks, eHealth approaches, assistive technologies, User interface design and an effective way of interpreting measured data for users and experts will be added.
