Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Pathology is part of a complex of basic subjects. It builds on the findings of normal anatomy. It introduces students to the application of pathology in practice, deals with diseases in terms of causes, extinction of the organism, with regressive and metabolic changes, inflammations and tumors. It also deals with blood circulation and saliva disorders, respiratory, urinary, digestive and genital disorders, hormonal disorders and developmental disorders.

Summary

Pathology is part of a complex of basic subjects. It builds on the findings of normal anatomy. It introduces students to the application of pathology in practice, deals with diseases in terms of causes, extinction of the organism, with regressive and metabolic changes, inflammations and tumors. It also deals with blood circulation and saliva disorders, respiratory, urinary, digestive and genital disorders, hormonal disorders and developmental disorders.

Subject syllabus:

1. Course contents of pathology. Illness and its causes. 2. Regressive and metabolic changes, progressive changes. 3. Blood and lymph circulation disorders. 4. Inflammation. 5. Tumors. 6. Pathology of the respiratory system. 7. Pathology of the heart and blood vessels. 8. Disorders of urine formation and excretion. 9. Disorders of digestive tract activity. 10. Pathology of female and male genital tract. 11. CNS Pathology. 12. Pathology of the endocrine system. 13. Genetic influences. 14. Pathology of the newborn.
