Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The aim of the course electromagnetic compatibility of electronic measurement instruments and is: -To acquaint students with problems related to compliance with the principles, standards and regulations to ensure the electromagnetic compatibility -To obtain basic information about methods to achieve electromagnetic compatibility and how to measure it.

Summary

An increasing number of electronic devices, along with the expansion of all types of radiocommunication services, result in the occurrence and undesirable effects of various types of interfering electromagnetic signals. These signals make it difficult or sometimes impossible not only to operate the ambient sensitive receivers, but they can substantially affect any electronic device. Mutual functional coexistence of various types of electrical equipment is therefore the basic reason for increasing interest in the EMC. With a massive increase in wireless technology in connection with Industry 4.0 (Cyber-Physical Systems) and IoT trends, it is absolutely essential to maintain the functionality and security of data transmission so that all components meet EMC requirements. Failure to comply with these parameters may result in communication mallfunction between components, loss of data etc.

Subject syllabus:

Students in this course introduces the prospective field, electromagnetic compatibility which in recent years is beginning to be, with many practical application, particularly with regard to the global trend to non operation of the equipment, inadequate to the relevant standards. The course is devoted to particular areas: 1. EMCsharing issues 2. Source interference 3. Testing methodology for EMC 4. Measuring equipment for EMC, methodology, measurement protocols 5. Add-on devices for measurement and control 6. Selected applications in electronic devices, 7. Standardization of EMC.
