Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The main goal is to give the students information focused on design of electric, electronic and electronic programmable systems to assure functional safety of machines and industrial processes. The course is based on safety integrity levels conception which is defined in international standards. Students learn how to design safety related control system in accordance with risk analysis of the machine or the process.

Summary
The course deals with design of electric, electronic and electronic programmable systems to assure functional safety of machines and industrial processes in accordance with international standards. The course describes the ways of risk analysis of machine or process, safety integrity level assessment, design of safety related electric, electronic and electronic programmable system. The students learn also methodology of failure probability parameters calculation within mentioned systems. The course extends the knowledge of the industrial control system obtained in bachelor and master degree.
