Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
Students will be introduced in the problems of building control system. Students will work with technical tools for building control and building equipment. Graduates can evaluate the technical level of innovative projects in building control systems, will be able to design technical solutions according to individual customers requirements.

Summary
Subject introduces with the area of control of offices, residential and industrial building. The subject is focused to students who expect to work in design, innovations and reconstructions of buildings. The subject is also suitable for students focused on home automation and remote control.

1. Introduction to building management.
2. Sensors
3. Actuators
4. Control and regulation
5. Control of cooling, heating, and indoor air quality, microclimate management
6. Generation, transmission, and storage of electrical energy. Renewables
7. Network resources for communication
8. Transmission and distribution of data in building control systems: KNX / LonWorks
9. Telecommunication services
10. Building automation systems
11. Centralized and decentralized control and monitoring technology
12. The human–building interface, visualization of building management. Remote management and monitoring of buildings.
13. Smart green buildings, transport infrastructure, Electromobility
Exercise:
1. Introduction to the laboratory, Safety in the laboratory, fire and alarm directive.
2. Sensors, demonstration of time constant of the sensor, the temperature dependence of the sensor. Demonstration measurements with a Thermo camera.
3. Actuators. Demonstration of the time constant of the actuator, electric heating.
4. Controllers. Example of calculating a simple controller. Design of a regulation circuit.
5. Temperature control. Interior temperature control example.
6. Tour to photovoltaic power plants at VSB-TU Ostrava.
7. Ethernet - demonstration of the technology, TCP / IP communication example
