To understand the importance of hygiene and epidemiology for a human’s health. To understand the organization and the task of hygienic service and its practical activity. To understand the basics of epidemiological work practice.

The subject introduces basics knowledge of hygienic and epidemiology as a scientific fields focused at health prevention.

Subject syllabus:
- Hygiene and Epidemiology as a preventive disciplines. Definitions, contents and tasks.
- Supervision and monitoring, preventive hygiene and regular supervision. Principles of primary and secondary prevention.
- Determinants of health, their presence in living and working environment, methods of health.
- Basic environmental health.
- Indoor environment.
- Occupational hygiene and occupational medicine. The definition and content, risk factors, working environment. Methods of assessing risk in the working environment. Occupational medical care.
