Goal of this course is make students acquainted with basic types of medical technology in use for radiotherapy, physical principles of their function, proper use and maintenance.

Subject syllabus:

- Instrumentation for radiotherapy, the distribution apparatus - Radiotherapy simulator computer systems for planning RT - The feed, the feed for the RT, cobalt irradiator structure - Construction of therapeutic X-ray, accessories and fixation devices - Construction of particle accelerators-linear accelerator, - Apparatus for unconventional therapy, neutron generators, proton accelerators - Construction equipment for the AFL, the security elements in external therapy and brachytherapy, using, operating, servicing radiation techniques, preventive examinations - Safety rules and regulations relating to the maintenance of radiation technique, documentation is kept on the instrument-technician, emergency rule - Electric Meter-volmetr, oscilloscope, electrometer kVp meter, mAs meter - Laser sights, the construction of radioactive sealed sources of ionizing radiation, basics of metrology, calibration of the radiation beam. X-ray, the brake beam, the electrons - Determination of basic parameters of the bundle - half-layer, homogeneity, symmetry, output factors, wedge factors, transmission units, in vivo dosimetry - types of detectors, calibration and interpretation of results
