Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The subject introduces student into the problem of prevention against ionising radiation. It provides basic knowledge about properties of the atomic structure of materials and principles of rise of ionising radiation. It acuaints the student with methods of detection and with sources of radiation and also with priciples of prevention against ionising radiation, inclusive practical calculations basic parameters radiation protection.

Atomic structure materials. Structure atomic nuclei. Ionising radiation. Decay and his characteristics. Natural, artificial radioactivity. Source ionizing radiation. Detection ionizing radiation. Quantity and troop used in the area radiation protection. Irradiation source inhabitant. Purposes and principles radiation protection. Manners radiation protection. Legislature (atomic law, execute public notice). Usage radionuclides and ionizing radiation practically.
