Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

After passing this subject student is able to practise basic projects of electrical substations (including auxiliary and accompanying devices) and electrical lines and he is able to apply obtained knowledge in technical practice, student is able to interpret obtained knowledge to other technical workers.

Teaching methods

Summary

In this subject are summarized practical pieces of knowledge from operation of electrical distribution equipment that are updated with newest science pieces of knowledge (e.g. application of neural networks, bi-directional transmissions in electrical power engineering).

Lectures: Methods of load progress determination Application of neural networks for load prediction Electrical substations - basic scheme of electrical substations - busbar Electrical substations - basic scheme of electrical substations - branches Basic principles of distribution equipment designing Basic principles of up to 1000 kV distribution equipment designing. Modern conception of distribution equipment designing. Ripple control - general characteristics Connection of ripple control transmitter to the network Bi-directional transmissions in electrical power engineering Power factor compensation - serial, parallel Electromagnetic compatibility Basic criteria for evaluation of mechanical stress of lines Mechanics of overhead lines Lines, towers, insulators, bases Exercises: Introduction, safety training, alternating current networks solving Prediction of electricity consumption Computation of overvoltage and recovery voltage in a system Computation of load in various areas, computation of recuperative lead Excursion - visit of substation 110 kV Excursion - visit of distribution substation Submission of project of electrical network Design of network and distribution transformers Solving of steady state operating of system on computer Calibration of pulsed three-phase electrometer Measuring of power with transducer NC 70 Measuring of input characteristics of ripple control transceiver Mechanics of overhead lines and towers Credit exercise Projects: Project of network (electrical and mechanical project) Elaboration result of measure
