Successful students can calculation of electrical machines. Components of these calculations are also ventilating and mechanic calculations. Students can also bases of design. Student can up successful finalization these subject principles calculation and groundings of construction electrical machines.

Summary

The student can, after graduation of this subject, design electrical, magnetic circuits and mechanical systems of rotating electromagnetic machines. He can use the literature about construction electrical machines, standards ČSN EN, ČSN IEC and catalogues manufacturing programmes.

Subject syllabus:

Lectures: Introduction into construction and projection electrical machines Projects of technical product, historical development electrical machines, producer electrical machines, components electrical machines Influence applied on systems design and construction electrical machines, operating principles electrical machines, sort of current, speed of rotation, excitation, cooling duty type, working environment, form of machines Rating machines, inertial mass, voltage, noise and vibration, thermostability of materials, mechanical ruggedness and influence of environment specification, standard specifications and regulations for electrical machines Basic phase of machinery design, selection basic dimensions, influence frequency, voltage, temperature, filling slotsIntroduction into construction and projection electrical machine Projects of technical product, historical development electrical machines, producer electrical machines, components electrical machines Influence applied on systems design and construction electrical machines, operating principles electrical machines, sort of current, speed of rotation, excitation, cooling duty type, working environment, form of machines Rating machines, inertial mass, voltage, noise and vibration, thermostability of materials, mechanical ruggedness and influence of environment specification, standard specifications and regulations for electrical machines Basic phase of machinery design, selection basic dimensions, influence frequency, voltage, temperature, filling slots Heating and cooling of electrical machines, heating of homogenous body, proceedings of heat transfer, equivalent heat circuits. Design procedure of single sort machines Mechanic calculations in electrical machines, calculation of simple parts, calculation bolts, gussets, shrunk rings, bandages and shafts Calculation electrical machine supports, shaft voltage and bearing currents. Electrical and mechanic commutator calculation Electrical machine reliability, conception and definition, bath curve, determination machines reliability, degradation's factor, dependability Diagnostics of electrical machines, method and procedures Commutation calculation and commutating poles, latitude of commutation range, verification commutating quality, operation direct-current machine power supply wavy current Influence of no sinusoidal power supply on activity AC machines Projects: It is submit separate work. Student works up this separate work in time out of tutorial. Work contains calculations, drawing documentation and written paper. Computer labs: Introduction into projection electrical machines, conditions of credits, DC windings Design AC three-phase winding of electrical machines Design coil of AC windings, circular cross-section wires Design coil of AC windings, sectional wires Calculation no-load characteristic Calculation no-load characteristic and excitation windings design Excitation windings calculation and design Design coils of excitation windings - alternating-current alternator with salient poles Calculation losses of electrical machines Ventilation and cooling Schaft design, determination shaft deflection, critical speed Bearing design Support Dovetail commutator, segment lamele loading calculation Credit exercise
