Subject syllabus:

Lectures: Introduction to LAN, refernce model DoD. Network access layer. Structural cabling. Internet layer, IP address, CIDR, subnetting. Transport layer. Application protocol. HTTP protocol as base of communication. Internet organisation, IANA, ICANN. Protocol IPv6 Addresses of IPv6. Principe of assigments IPv6 addresses. Supporting protocols of ICMPv6 and others. Projects: Design of LAN and economic calculation. Server configuration, web page design. Computer labs: Safety in the laboratory. Basic information about the subject and its classification. Projects. Basics of Linux operating system. Cables, measurement of cables. Test nr. 1. Client configuration. Presentation of project nr. 1. Network configuration with switches, VLANs. Network configuration with routers. Test nr. 2. Presentation of project nr. 2 (HTTP, FTP). Presentation of project nr. 2 (DHCP, DNS). Presentation of project nr. 2 (SSH, SNMP). Presentation of project nr. 2 (Mail, IRC). Test nr. 3. Presentation of project nr.2 (NTP, Syslog). Test nr. 4.
