The topic of subject is to give the basic skills from the region of the technology control systems tools.

Teaching methods

Summary

The topic of subject is to give the basic skills from the region of the technology control systems tools. Participant will introduce systematically with subject matter of processing of signals and data in control systems. There is read problematic of the set point values and process values. Handling and utilization of process actuators. There are introduced informations about project work in measurement and control. Students work on practical examples of control circuits with help of local and distributed DDC systems. Also with help of the industrial computers, with introduction to visualizing of processes. In the subject is performed explanation: - terminology - control systems local, centralized including industrial computers - hydraulic components and systems - pneumatic components and systems - mechanical components and systems - electric components and systems - process sensors of temperature, of pressure, of level, of flow and others - introduction to project work in measurement and control (MaC). Standards for data transfer in measurement and control systems - examples if industrial buses. Subject is component of standard course of the line measurement and control in industry. Minimal qualification study of title is termination of title Measurement non electric quantities. The title is suitable for applicants other branches and faculties, if they would be familiarized with technology control tools. The study knowledge tend to be renew by excursions to the enterprises, research institutes and project organizations. Student is classified by created Essays, laboratory tasks, one Half-yearly work and concluding test.

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester

Verification of study: Essay: Technical exposition fabricated on the base of minimally three sources (two of them must be of foreign origin and language) at the theme in accordance of student's selection, must be approved by lecturer. Must contain bibliography (arranged with accordance with valid standards) literature. The layout is given at the beginning of the semester. Laboratory tasks I. (Obligatory tasks): Record containing complex documentation solving assigned in advance prepared with selected control system. For tasks there are used control systems. Student must be able with his documentation re-reproduce the task. Laboratory tasks II. (Individual tasks): Record containing complex documentation solving assigned not prefabricated tasks. At the compilation and solving tasks with students use fixtures, components and systems in the laboratory of subject. Student must be able with his documentation re-reproduce the task. Half-yearly work: Solving of the more extensive problem (model) from the region of the technology control systems and operational instrumentation, include realization of the hardware and software components. The documentation must contain the comprehensive problem solving description. The vindication is successful, when the student presents his own result, explains independently function, presents whole documentation of the solving method, including theory, including constructional and project arguments and including function verification and comments how the assignment was fulfilled. Conditions for credit: Essay max. 9 Pts, Lab. Task I max. 10 Pts, Lab. Task II max. 10 Pts, Half-year work max. 20 Pts, Subtotal max. 49 Pts. Concluding test max. 51 Pts. The requirement for giving of title is min. 51 Pts. including concluding test.

Lectures: Basic concepts from the region of the technology control systems. Concentrated and distributed systems. Programming of DDC systems. Programming of DDC systems in environment COLBAS with applications on control computer PRV. Visualization tools. Measurement and control systems with PC and industrial cards. The principles of programming of industrial cards. Stepper motors, its features and control. Applications of stepper motors. Electric drives in control. Direct current, alternating current motors and drives. Curious construction of motors. Driving of valves, caps, transport equipment, machines and instruments. Electric drives in control. Asynchronous motors. Solenoid valves. Servo drives and it's handling. Resolvers. Hydraulic components and systems. Features and the principles of utilization. Pneumatic components and systems. Features and the principles of utilization. Mechanical and electromechanical components in control. Gears relays, switches, controls, and breakers. Solid state components. Project work in MaC. Documentation, its importance and CAD creation. Electrical project rules and standards. Switchboards and cables. Measurement and control in thermal systems. Introduction to technology problems. Applications of sound in industry. Building control, introduction. Concluding test. Exercises: Lab. 1. Principles of work in laboratory. Offer of the laboratory tasks and half-year works. Lab 14.
