Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The goal is train up the participants in the modern viewpoint on problems of the electromagnetic compatibility, distortion of electric equipment and the relationship to standards. Graduates can classify possibilities of elimination of distortion, can design and perform measurement EMI and its evaluation.

The goal is train up the participants in the modern viewpoint on problems of the electromagnetic compatibility, distortion of electric equipment and the relationship to standards. Graduates can classify possibilities of elimination of distortion, can design and perform measurement EMI and its evaluation. Subject gives the basic knowledge of method for checking EMC. There are explained requirements on sources, input circuits, output circuits and control circuits in the electronic equipment. Participants will be familiar with selected technologies at design and production of electronic equipment. The component of the course is practical realization in Half-yearly work. The study knowledge tend to be renew by excursions to the enterprises, research institutes and project organizations. In the subject students are educated: - EMC in design of the power sources - principles of the electronic production - selected product machines - EMC in design of printed circuits - measurement technology of the interference and susceptibility. The title is designated for students, who expect practical skills and knowledge. They perform design and making of the selected electronic device or circuit, in Half-yearly work and its measurement from viewpoint of EMC. The study knowledge tends to be renew by excursions. Minimal qualification study of title is knowledge of work with PC. Different types of measurement instruments and computers supply laboratories; here are used programs for design of electronic circuits. Student is classified by created Essay; Half-yearly work (scholastic product) and concluding test. The tutorial is limited-only for 10 students in one semester.

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester

Verification of study: Essay, half-yearly work (scholastic project) Content and form of assessed works: Essay: Technical exposition fabricated on the base of minimally three sources (two of them must be of foreign origin and language) at the theme in accordance of student´s selection, must be approved by lecturer. Must contain bibliography (arranged with accordance with valid standards). The layout is given at the beginning of the semester. Construction of the selected electronic equipment and its measurement in according with EMC requirements. Documentation must contain graphic and text part in extent by assignment of the half-yearly project. The vindication is successful, when student presents his own scholastic project. Conditions for credit: Classification of study: Submission term of Essays, electronic way (WEB) - up to 7. Week Half-yearly work - project 1 made over for credit Credit starting from14.week Subtotal max. 49 The requirement for giving of title is min. 51 Pts. including concluding test.

Subject syllabus:

Lectures: Basic classification of EMC. Electronic instruments. Construction requirements. Block schematics basic the types of the electronic measurement instruments, construction from viewpoint of EMC parameters. Analog input circuits of measurement instruments. Blocks for processing of direct current analog signals. Input attenuators, input amplifiers, transducers, circuits for galvanic separation of input circuits etc. Blocks for processing of alternating analog signals from sensors. Precise rectifiers. Transducers for measurement of alternating signal (mean and RMS value, phase, etc.). Processing of alternating signals from sensors (E.g. strain gauges). Enhanced analysis of the EMC problematics. Thermoelectric voltage, voltage drops etc. Problems of distortion of measured in power net, of leaking currents etc. Filtration of the signal. Protection of input circuits against overloading, protection against lightning. Measurement technology on measurement interference. Problems of the measurement accuracy. Measurement technology on measurement of susceptibility. Test generators and antennas. Measurement antennas. Measurement probes. Mechanical construction fabricated systems, interconnection of the functional units. Problems of cooling. Ergonomic aspects of electronic instruments. Requirements in industrial environment. Printed circuits. Classes of accuracy. Automatisation design of printed circuits (examples in programs). Technology of soldering, SMD. Specifications of materials.
