The goal of subject is introduce students on advanced methods of data acquisition and processing using computer systems. The student aquired during this course information about the fundamental problems of computer I/O interface devices design. Summary

The goal of subject is introduce students on advanced methods of data acquisition and processing using computer systems. The student aquired during this course information about the fundamental problems of computer I/O interface devices design. The course is focused on the area of analysis and desig of modern advanced computer aided measuring methods and circuits. The common circuit using temperature sensor is presented and processes of input signal acquision, signal conditioning, digital conversion and output signal recovery are analysed. The goal is design of computer I/O systems to achive precision signal acquisition and accurate data conversion. A fundamental concern througnt is the accuracy of the data from the analogy input circuits throught the data conversion devices and output reconstruction components. The following topics are discused:sensors, operational and instrumentational amplifiers, filters, devices for data conversion, signal recovery and interpolation.

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester

Verification of study: The current activity of student is done through his laboratory activities. Conditions for credit: Student can gain up to 40 points from the laboratory excercices respectively 20 points from the laboratory excercises and 20 points from the individual semestral project. To pass the laboratory part of the course student has to gain at least 25 points To pass the course student has to pass both of the laboratory part of the course and the final exam. The final exam consists of writing part 0 - 40 points and oral part 0 -20 points. Student have to be succeed in all parts of examination.

Lectures: Signal frequency analyse Accuracy uf measurement, type of errors, temperature sensors Analog signal transfer circuit Operation and instrumentation mplifiers and its errors Noise in low-level aplification Filters for measurement signals, active filters analysis, filter errors Bandpass instrumentation filters Signal quality improvement, analog signal processing Devices for data conversion, analog-multiplexers Sampled data, intersample error Conversion system design, D/A and A/D converters Problems of sampling frequency determination Aliasing of signal and noise,intersample and aperture error, signal recovery Data acquision and processing systems architecture Computer-assisted interface analysis software Exercises: Analog signals frequency analysis Probability theory, statistics parameter of noised signal Signal amplifier design methodology Common-mode rejection ratio CMRR circuits realization Sampled circuits analysing and design A/D converter design Intersample and aperture error determination Laboratories: Signal transfer circuit analyse Noise level analyse, operation amplifier analyse Signal filters analyse and design Active filters analyse Signal-to-noise ratio determination and improvement Computer-assisted interface software Advanced measurement devices
