Study and practical experience in teaching and training using computer-based multimedia. Introduction to the application of industrial methodologies. Students will be familiarizing them with the range of tools used in creating computer-based multimedia. At the end of the course, you will: Understand current trends in multimedia by experiencing a variety of applications and development packages.

Students will be familiarizing them with the range of tools used in creating computer-based multimedia. At the end of the course, you will: Understand current trends in multimedia by experiencing a variety of applications and development packages. This course is an introduction to computer-based multimedia including hypermedia, presentation media, graphics, animation, sound, video, and integrated authoring techniques, with some discussion and examination of the underlying technologies that make them possible. It is a survey course that touches especially the application control technology a measurement application field.

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester

Verification of study: Essay up to 7. week Scholastic project up to 14. Week Content and form of assessed works: Essay: Technical exposition fabricated on the base of minimally three sources (two of them must be of foreign origin and language) at the theme in accordance of student's selection, must be approved by lecturer. The layout is given at the beginning of the semester. Scholastic project: Presentation on WEB pages and CD media. Student performs the project, and comments how the assignment was fulfilled. Conditions for credit: min. 24 Points Essay 0 - 9 Points min. 24 Pt. Include concluding tests.

Lectures: Examples of current multimedia titles and applications for industrial purposes. Exploration of type styles, graphic modes and formats. Graphic imports and page layout. Content flow. Import text, graphics, and libraries. Style sheets and formats. Multimedia team management using project management software. Backgrounds, buttons, presentation elements. Interface design for measurement and control schemes. Common authoring schemes. Links and return scripts. Sound types formats. Digitizing considerations. Video concepts and formats. Lighting, staging. Storyboards. Sizing, looping. Technical limitations and formats. Demonstration of 2D, 3D concepts. Simple HTML commands. Internet resources for development. Layout and flow. Making media elements work. Concluding test. Exercises: Principles of work with computer net and HTML pages. signment of half-year works Technical and law rules and standards. Submitting of Essays and scholastic projects. Computer labs: Work with vector and bitmap graphic object for industrial and medicine imaging. Presentation of slides and scans. User interface for graphics in industrial control. Preparing CD, DVD media and formats. Multimedia Sound: Create soundtracks. Multimedia Images: Creating photos. Multimedia Digital video: Create clips. Production Planning and Design. Presentation of "What is Multimedia?" program. Presentation of scripts, applets and servlets. Presentation of scholastic projects.
