Summary

Introduce participants to multimedia production, creation audio and video based educational CD with human machine interface for presentation especially industrial information and measurement systems. Students will understand the challenges of designing for both usability and usefulness. The focus will be on mechanisms for developing requirements for computer technologies to support such activity. Graduates will understand independently create, technically work and archive multimedia educational programs, based on text, images, sound and video records. The interest area is electronic, measurement and control engineering. The focus area is colleges, technology institutes and universities. In the age of the information revolution, knowledge communities are undergoing rapid changes in their existence, in their constituencies and in their methods. The modern multimedia means are suitable for rapid education these communities in narrow knowledge sphere. Communications technologies have created the potential for knowledge communities where none existed before. Traditional HCI task analysis and usability inspection methods are not particularly helpful in this endeavor. This course covers the technical and human factors of software and interface design. Emphasis is placed on techniques and guidelines to design and critique different types of media, types and styles of interaction, and user information packaging and referencing. Concepts in interface design and testing are considered in relation to human information processing capabilities and limitations. Subject familiarizes with principles of production of dynamic presentations with utilization text, sound and video records. Within scope of the schooling students became familiar with work with professional tools for work with text, sound and video records. As the half-year work, they can create own program on cutting workplaces in laboratory. It will introduce them in the modern level of multimedia apparatus. Internet applications are also explained. The study knowledge tends to be renewing by excursions to studios and on workplaces with multimedia technologies. Minimal qualification for study of title is knowledge work with PC. Different types of computers supply the laboratory; there are multimedia tools of the schooling and programs for professional work on multimedia projects and www pages. Students within scope of the half-yearly project will create own www page and scholastic project. Student is classified by created Essays; Half-yearly work (scholastic project) and concluding test.
