Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The topic of subject is to give knowledge from the region of real time systems technology tools.

Teaching methods

Summary

Participant will introduced with control tools in brief. There are analyzed process signals, set point values and process values. There are described control units and systems, actuators for real time applications. It introduces project work in real time systems. Here are solved practical examples of control circuits with local and distributed DDC systems with help of industrial computers. Within scope Half-yearly work are students introduced into programming of selected tasks. Laboratories are furnished by tasks of measurement and control technology tools, mainly controlled by various types of computers and PLC. During the teaching there are used multimedia means and simulating and visualization programs. In the subject is performed explanation: - terminology for real time - programmable PC cards - applications in machinery, metallurgy and mine technologies - in light industry and transport applications. There are read informations about wide range of process sensors, introducing to programming of real time systems including programming of PLC, embedded controllers and PC. The subject is suitable for students of other lines and faculties, if they would be familiarized with technology control. The study knowledge tend to be renew by excursions to the enterprises, research institutes and project organizations. Student is classified by created Essays, laboratory tasks, one Half-yearly work and concluding test.

Recommended literature:

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester

Verification of study: Content and form of assessed works: Essay: Technical exposition fabricated on the base of minimally three sources (two of them must be of foreign origin and language) at the theme in accordance of student's selection, must be approved by lecturer. It has to comprise annotation at the beginning and the bibliography at the end (arranged in accordance with valid standards). The layout is given at the beginning of the semester. Laboratory work Record-containing documentation of the measurement performed in the laboratory. For tasks are used world famous and present instruments. Student must be able with his documentation re-reproduce the task. Half-yearly work: Solving of the more extensive problem (model) from the region of the technology of the measurement systems and operational instrumentation, include realization of the hardware and software components. The documentation must contain the comprehensive problem solving description. The vindication is successful, when the student presents his own result, explains independently function, presents whole documentation of the solving method, including theory, including constructional and project arguments and including function verification and comments how the assignment was fulfilled. Student must be able the half-year work to publicize by locating on the WEB server. Conditions for credit: Requirements for credits (tutorial): min. 24 Points. Essay max. 9 Pts, Subtotal max. 45 Pts. Concluding test max. 36 Pts.
