Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The goal is train up the participants in the modern viewpoint on problems of the electromagnetic compatibility, distortion of electric equipment and the relationship to standards. Graduates can classify possibilities of elimination of distortion, can design and perform measurement EMI and its evaluation. Summary

Area of EMC is nowadays crucial part of all electronic branches. Subject gives the basic theoretic knowledge of area EMC, deals with methods for verification of EMC parameters in the field of construction of electronic equipments. Students get knowledge of methodology of measurement EMC parameters of technological equipments. Requirements for power sources, I/O circuits and control circuits in the electronic equipmnets are explained here. Students will be introduced to the area of standardization in EMC forcefully to area of electrotechnics. Part of this subject is focused on laboratory tasks of measurement and analyzing disturbing signals by using modern measuring technics. The knowledge tends to be added by excursions to the factories, research centers and design centers. In the subject students are educated: - basic terms of problematic of EMC - methodology of measurement and analyzing of EMC parameters - processes for limitation of max. level of disturbing signals - EMC design of printed circuits - area of standardization The subject is designed mainly for students, who expect practical verifications of theoretical skills nad knowledge. They perform design and making of the selected electronic circuit and its measurement from viewpoint of EMC. Laboratories are wquipped by modern measurement technics with possibility of connection to PC. Student is classified by created Essay, Half-yearly work and concluding test. The claswork is limited for 10 students in one semester.

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester

Verification of study: Essay, half-yearly work (scholastic project) Content and form of assessed works: Essay: Technical exposition fabricated on the base of minimally three sources (two of them must be of foreign origin and language) at the theme in accordance of student´s selection, must be approved by lecturer. Must contain bibliography (arranged with accordance with valid standards). The layout is given at the beginning of the semester. Construction of the selected electronic equipment and its measurement in according with EMC requirements. Documentation must contain graphic and text part in extent by assignment of the half-yearly project. The vindication is successful, when student presents his own scholastic project. Conditions for credit: Classification of study: Submission term of Essays, electronic way (WEB) - up to 7. Week Half-yearly work - project 1 made over for credit Credit starting from14.week The requirement for giving of title is min. 51 Pts.

Lectures: Introduction to the EMC problematic, basic classification and terms Sources of disturbing signals, industrial disturbing sources, EMC environment Basic principles of transmission of disturbing signals, galvanic, capacitive, inductive coupling, radiation's coupling Measurement of electromagnetic signals, principles, equipment for measuring EMC Equipments for measuring EMI, measurement accuracy problematic, measurement of disturbing signal spread by conduction and through environment Equipments for measuring EMS, test generators and antennas Measurement antennas, measurement probes Technique for disturbance limitation, supression components, introduction to using Standardization in area of EMC EMC of basic electrotechnic blocks of technological equipments Materials in instruments production. Requirements on materials. Technology of plastics EMC of biological systems EMC analysis and prognosis of large systems Final test Laboratories: Introduction, assigning Essays and semestral projects and laboratory tasks Getting started with measurements equipments Getting started with spectrum analyzers.
