Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The subject represents the introduction to the principles of scientific field Artificial intelligence. The goal of subject is introduce students on analysis and design methods of simple expert systems and fuzzy controllers. Students will be ready for practical use of basic artificial intelligence tools namely fuzzy expert systems and fuzzy controllers. Summary

The course is focused on the area of artificial intelligent methods application in information and control systems. It presents the sources and principles of artificial intelligence, introduces the classical and multivalue logics. The subject introduces the principles of spars knowledge using, principles of fuzzy mahematics, fuzzy logic and its application in expert and control systems. It presents the principles of probability systems, neural networks and genetic algorithms and applications of this tools in modern cybernetics and robotics.

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester

Verification of study: The current activity of student is done through his laboratory activities. Conditions for credit: Student can gain up to 60 points from the test result and 40 points from the individual semestral project. To pass the course student have to work up both of semestral project and test.

Lectures: History of artificial intelligence, artificial intelligence principles and approaches. Objective and subjective knowledge, knowledge using in knowledge baseed systems. Uncertainty and its using in linguistic models. Knowledge representation, importance of knowledge in artificial intelligence systems. Machine knowledge representation IF-THEN rule based models. Expert systems Fuzzy control Methodology of fuzzy controller design Neural networks Genetics algorithms Application of artificial intelligence methods in engineering Laboratories: Motion system analysis of mobile robot VIMR.
