Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The goal of subject is introduce students on automatic control, control systems and feedback control systems. Students will be ready for practical valuation a role of control and information systems in all areas of human activities. They also will know fundamentals of present using telecommunication nets. This subject is suitable for students another branches of study, which want familiarize control and information systems and telecommunication nets.

Teaching methods

Summary

The goal of subject is introduce students on the crucial issue of two branches of electrical engineering study. In the first part is introducing the branch of study Control and Information Systems. In the second one is introducing the branch of study Communication Engineering with the survey of present using telecommunication nets. Students will obtain base knowledge's of automatic control, control and information systems and telecommunication nets.

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester

Conditions for credit: Study Classification - classification accreditation. Student is classifying on base closing test´s 0 - 50 points. Classification accreditation is from 14th week. Condition for receiving is min. 51 points; maximum of receiving points is 100. Total classification 51-100 points according study rules.

Subject syllabus:

Lectures: Base notions from control and information systems. Application areas of control and information systems in industry, transport, biomedicine and housekeeping. Characteristics of control systems. Simple examples of control systems. Example of the complex control system. Hardware of control systems. Data acquisition using measurement. Measurement systems. The role of sensors in measurement and control systems. Instrumentation of control systems. Modern resources using in control systems. Applications of resources in control and information systems. The role of computers in control systems. Connection measurement and control instrumentations with control objects. Bindings between parts of control systems. Structure solution. Software resources of control systems. Problems of real-time, tasks and data processing in real-time. Using information technologies in control systems. Using Intranet a Internet in control systems. Human- machine communications in control and information systems. Visualization systems. Basic terminology from information theory and transmission messages. Structure of messages and its statistical degree of information, basic transmission terms and quantity, transmission path. Properties and types of telecommunications paths. Essential quantity and units used to evaluation analog channels, types and properties of the telecommunication lines. Radio mobile networks (GSM), Satellite communication systems. Modulation of signals. Modulation methods and theirs parameters. Principles of multiple efficient for transmission path. Analog and digital transmission systems. The methods of security data transmission. Classification of the ways security and methods security to transmission data. Telecommunication networks. Types of these networks, their characteristics, principles of connections. Telecommunication services. Classification of services, characteristics non-speech services.
