Ability to implement, manage, maintain and support Microsoft Windows server systems as well as troubleshoot common issues.

Summary
The course is aimed at obtaining basic knowledge of the principles of management of the various elements of computer systems on the Microsoft Windows Server platform and existing standards and recommendations (for example, www.itil.org). Teaching the subject will be provided in cooperation with the staff of Tieto (lecturer and part of exercises!) and Tele Data System (part of exercises).

Conditions for credit:
During the semester will be ongoing checkpoint exercises, which will verify experience. At the end of the semester will be the final part of the practical and written focusing on substance of the lectures and general overview in security of operating systems.
Point division:

Final test -- 30p.
Written part
Teoretical test at the last lectures - 50p.
From the practical part it is necessary to get at least 26 points out of a total of 50b for the practical part. From the written part it is necessary to get at least 26 points out of the total 50b for the written part. The course is executed after receiving at least 51 points of the total number of the 100 points. If the student does not reach the minimum point boundary has the right to repeat only the part that has received less points and only once.

Introduction to the accounts and administration sources. Management groups.
Access to shared resources. Establishing effective rights.
Installation and printer sharing, management approach. Spooling.
Role of organizational units. The delegation checks on organizational units.
Security policy, auditing, management logs.
Server administration. Monitoring memory, CPU usage, disks and the use of the network.
Administration of disk space. Compression and encryption of files. Disk quotas. Data backup.
Administration, configuration and monitoring network. Network services. Solving problems with connectivity.
Management and monitoring DHCP and DNS. Configuring the translation of names.
Integration of DNS and WINS. Installation, configuration and management of the WINS server.
Management services for network access.
Architecture and function of the Active Directory. The process of design, planning and implementation of the Active Directory. Planning strategy of accounts and audit. Replication.
Computer labs:
As part of the exercises will be on the practical problems presented themes of the lectures in the operating systems Windows 10 and Windows 2016 Server.
