Summary

The main topic of this course is the administration of the most widespread database system (Oracle, MS SQL Server a MySQL). The course is focused on general aspects of these products and also on their specified features.

Compulsory literature:

DBMS documentation to Oracle, SQL Server and DB2.

Recommended literature:

D.K.Burleson. Physical database design using Oracle, Auerbach, ISBN 0-8493-1817-3 S.Lightstone, T.Teorey, T.Nadeau. Physical database design, Morgan Kaufmann, ISBN-10: 0-12-369389-6

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester

Students will have to solve problems during the exercises and show the understanding of the DBMS administration. The problems will usually have two tasks where one will be available before the exercise and the second not.
