Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
Graduate Course
knows the standard methodology, methods and tools for the development of large information systems,
lead is used in practice in the development of IS in the team co-investigator,
can describe the issue of data warehousing, the origin, use, difference from operational databases,
knows the methods of data modeling data warehouses and their implementation,
practically can analyze and implement a data warehouse from a specified operational database
is able to describe the differences between operational and other types of IS.

Methods of knowledge about the development of traditional operational information systems (OLTP), practical process analysis, design implementation, implementation, documentation and final presentation of a large IS.
Theory and practice of data warehouses (DW) as a new type of database, OLAP and decision support systems. DS developmental stages, concrete examples of how analysis is made DS.

Team development of information systems. Control of work, types of solvers, types of project teams.
The life cycle of information systems. To specification - functional and non-functional requirements.
Analysis of the data, functional, timing, methods and tools
Design implementation, system and object-oriented design, design analysis.
Implementation. Testing. Documentation. Maintenance IS
Cycle of creation and use of information, OLTP, data warehousing, OLAP. The structure of data warehouse metadata.
Analysis of the data warehouse. Data analysis, conceptual, multidimensional modeling, dimensions and facts, aggregation. Star schema, constellations and other schemes.
Methods of data warehouse implementations.
Mining knowledge from databases. User interface, presentation and visualization of data and analysis results.
