Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The aim of the course is to deepen students' knowledge in the field of biomedicine, especially in understanding Interconnection of experimental medicine and molecular and cellular biology methods, new methods for precision medicine and analysis of (patho) physiological processes. In addition, this knowledge and skills will be further enhanced in a direction that is in line with the specific focus of its Ph.D. studies and dissertation work.

Summary

Students will be acquainted with a multidisciplinary approach that combines modern aspects of medical and biological sciences with computer science. They will gain knowledge about the functioning of cells, tissues, organs, regulatory systems. They will be acquainted with the pathogenesis of some serious diseases in the context of modern immunology of inflammation, respectively, inability to dampen it. They will understand the importance of / limits of prediction models, collection and analysis of demographic, clinical and laboratory / imaging data. Students will also learn how to work with the big data offered by health care registers.

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester

Continuous monitoring of study activities and assigned tasks during regular consultations. If some publication activity will be a part of the student's tasks, the relevant article would be presented in the course. Oral exam.
