Summary

The aim of the subject is to motivate students for studying of Applied physics in one of the scientific branches expanded on Department of Physics, FEI, VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava. That is why students are informed of problems of these branches, laboratory equipment, basic research and scientific activities, etc. Basic branches of scientific and research aiming of Applied physics are identical with themes of lectures and seminars.

Subject syllabus:

1. Applied nuclear physics 2. Magnetism and its use in practice 3. Optical diagnostics and optoelectronics 4. Progress technologies of material disintegration For each of branches there are planned two lectures in the total amount of four lessons' hours and four seminars in the total amount of eight lessons' hours. This set is completed by introducing and concluding lectures about role of the applied physics building the bridge between theoretical description of the reality and its application for solution of problems of technical practice. These lectures will be supplemented by seminars with examples from practice, solution of model problems, etc.
