Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Collect the basic principles and laws of the chosen part of the classical physics. Describe, clarify and interpret the particular natural phenomena. Apply the simple mathematical methods for describing of the physical phenomena. Illustrate obtained knowledge in the frame of the easy applications.

Summary

The subject follows the subject Physics I. It is devoted to the electromagnetic field, electromagnetism, and optics. In the frame of theoretical exercises the models and approaches are applied to the solution of concrete questions.

Subject syllabus:

Electrostatic field of point and continual charges, electric intensity, potential, dipole, Gauss law of electrostatics, capacitance, RC circuits. Basic quantities of magnetic field, Hall effect, Amper force, magnetic dipole moment. Magnetic field due to currents, Biot-Savart law, coil, solenoid, toroid. Electro-magnetic induction, own and mutual induction, LC and RL circuits. Magnetic circuits, shielding of magnetic field. Magnetic field of matters, Maxwell equations.
