Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Student characterises special applications proper for utilization of liquid jets. Student analyses and evaluates possibilities of combination of liquid jets with other methods of materials disintegration. Student predicts and evaluates application possibilities of liquid jets in special cases.

Summary

The main aim of the course is to familiarize students with special applications of fluid jets, especially in the field of aerospace, automotive, medicine, electronics and powder materials. In this course the students are introduced into the issue of special modifications of devices working with liquid jets for their use in the aforementioned areas as well as other technological applications.

Subject syllabus:

1. Problems of application of liquid jets in aerospace industry - analysis of the main advantages and limitations 2. Use of liquid jet in automotive industry - main usage, efficiency and quality 3. Application of liquid jets in raw material extruction – limits of liquid jet use in this branch, possibilities of increase in performance and efficiency 4. Basic means of liquid jet utilizations for solution of emergency situations - analysis of application of liquid jets in this branch and proposals of further progress of use 5. Application of liquid jets in medicine - analysis of specific problems related to application of liquid jets in medical branches 6. Use of comminution processes performed by liquid jets for preparation of powder materials - analysis of benefits and disadvantages, new possibilities of utilization of such a preparation of materials and indication of methods of power and efficience increase
