The course focuses on the theoretical and practical foundations of gamma spectrometry.

1. Origin of gamma and X-rays. 2. Interaction of gamma radiation with matter. 3. Scintillation detectors. 4. Semiconductor detectors. 5. Electronic signal processing. 6. Statistical analysis of measured data. 7. Gamma standards. 8. Energy calibration. 9. Efficiency calibration. 10. Point gamma sources. Corrections. 11. Marinelli beakers. 12. Spectrometric software. 13. Cosmic rays. 14. Multidetector systems.
