To analyse transport of ionizing radiation from the point of view of classical and quantum physics To describe geometry of the task and to apply it To select a fundamental problem relating to the given field and to make an analysis of utilization of physical knowledge

The subject deepens the knowledge of interactions of photons, neutrons and charged particles with matter and deepens the knowledge of software used in ionizing-radiation transport simulations and is application oriented.

Subject syllabus:

The course focuses on selected parts of particle-transport simulations according to the topic of PhD. thesis, in particular: An overview of photon, neutron and charged particle interactions with matter. Softwares for ionizing-radiation trasport simulations and their applications. A deep introduction to MCNP6 calculations. Simulations of radiation fields and spectra. Calculations in dosimetry. Calculations of detection efficiency.
